Body Geometry Methodology: The human body evolved to walk, not pedal, which leads to power-robbing foot collapse, misalignment of the foot, knee, and hip, as well as “hot foot” in traditional cycling shoes. Carbon Plate: The Torch 3.0 features a lightweight, unidirectional carbon plate that enables balanced stiffness throughout the shoe, all while using less material, thus saving weight and ensuring efficient power transfer, mirroring its S-Works counterpart. Additionally, large rubber grips on the outsole of the toe and heel provide a stable, grippy platform for a seamless transition when pushing off the pavement to clip in or coming to a stop at a traffic light.

Stride Technology: Stride technology provides a flexible outsole and upper around the toe box combined with a stiff cleat pocket, enabling the shoe to easily flex when walking and remain stiff and efficient when pedaling.

High Performance & Efficiency: The Recon 3.0 pulls its cable routing, Boa dial placement, and carbon plate directly from our halo S-Works Recon. Dual, premium Li2 Boa Dials offer optimized adjustability and fit, while the cable routing ensures a locked-in feel, minimizing movement within the shoe. The carbon plate keeps the Recon 3.0 lightweight and stiff for optimal power output on the pedal, not to mention shaving 10 grams off our previous generation.

Comfort: The S-Works Torch Lace utilizes our new forefoot shape - 4mm wider than the S-Works 7 - based on extensive 3D foot scans and Retül data. The upper features remapped zonal layering throughout. It remains incredibly supple to adapt to different foot shapes, yet won’t stretch over a long day in the saddle to ensure a secure, consistent fit. An asymmetric heel counter reduces hard touch points against the ankle, and still delivers knee stability validated by our Human Performance team.

Efficiency: Every Body Geometry shoe optimizes ankle, knee, and hip alignment for a stable and pedal stroke with our patented Varus Wedge, a 1.5mm outward tilt to the outsole. Thanks to the light weight retention of laces and watching every gram - from the carbon outsole to the upper material - the S-Works Torch Lace weigh a feathery 200 grams in size 42. With an internal ‘I-Beam’ the carbon outsole provides the ideal stiffness-to-weight ratio for big efforts without adding excess grams, optimized by working with the best riders in the world.
